What are the Symptoms of Chronic Pain?

Pain is not a symptom that exists alone. From moderate to severe discomfort followed by soreness, tightness, burning, and aching, chronic pain can bring far reaching effects to one’s life including:

Withdrawal from activity
Weakened immune system

Can Chronic Pain Be ‘Fixed’?

The short answer is YES! If you are willing to make change. If you are breathing, you can improve your body’s ability to heal. The number one job of your brain is to keep you on this side of the dirt! It will accomplish whatever you ask it to do, any way it can that will keep you as stable and pain free as possible. The key is discovering why your body isn’t able to complete certain tasks without pain.

How Can I Be Pain Free?

CHANGE YOUR BRAIN, CHANGE YOUR PAIN.  Even if you have never touched a basketball, or stepped on the field you are an athlete. You are training your body every day. The CHRONIC PAIN RECOVERY PROGAM will take you through a 6-8 session series that will discover where your faulty movement patterns are and work to correct them. Neurokinetic Therapy ® is the cornerstone of the recover program.

What is Neurokinetic Therapy® (NKT®)?

Neurokinetic Therapy® was developed by David Weinstock in 1985. The protocols are designed to discover where the breakdown in communication is happening from the brain to the muscle. If it takes muscle A, B, C, and D to complete and action but muscle C is injured or weak, the brain will improperly recruit muscles B and D to take up the slack and complete action.  This new method of movement is called a COMPENSATION. The brain begins to recognize this new movement pattern and normal. A few months or years down the road you begin to hurt. No accident, no injury, just years of over using certain muscles and underutilizing others.  Welcome to the formula for MOST chronic pain. NKT® works by communicating with the motor control center of the brain.

Chronic Pain Recovery Program

In order to achieve a PAIN FREE way of life, you must change the way you LIVE! You didn’t learn to walk in a day or a week and you will not be free from months or years of pain in that short time span. During your CHRONIC PAIN RECOVERY PROGRAM you will receive the following:

Initial posture and movement assessment. This is one of the most important pieces of the CHRONIC PAIN RECOVERY PROGRAM and what makes it different than any other treatment you may have tried so far. The first appointment will be 1.5 hours in length where your NKT® practitioner will take you through a multitude of movement tests, inquire about past events such as surgeries, falls, and trauma of any kind.

Muscle testing will be performed in each session to discover the connections between the hypertonic (overworking) muscles and the inhibited (weak) muscles. Manual releases will be performed on the overworking muscle and activation techniques will be taught for the weak muscles.

Once the NKT® assessments reveal the dysfunctional muscle patterns, an individualized program of corrections will be designed for the client to practice at home to promote ongoing recovery. This is where be brain begins to learn new patterns of movement. The at home correction are vital to burn a more efficient pattern of movement into the brain so that it can translate correct movement to the body.

Lifestyle modifications will be put in place to aid in correcting the muscle imbalances caused by traumatic injury, over use, under use, repetitive stress, postural stress etc. This includes sleeping patterns, habits of sitting and standing, and other daily repetitive ways the body is used that promotes improper stability.

Nutrition/hydration monitoring. During your 3-4 week CHRONIC PAIN RECOVERY PROGRAM an anti-inflammatory diet is advised. Assistance from a qualified nutritional professional will be available.

Regular follow-ups between sessions will ensure your success in retraining your brain to get you free from pain!

6 Sessions $360 - $110 Initial Assessment + 5 follow-up sessions

*Individual results vary and is dependent upon implementation of recommended changes.
